be involved...

I look back at my school career and regret not being involved or feeling a real part of the school. Therefore, I have highly encouraged the girls to do something that has them feel a part of the school. Chantel choose Track, Scholarship Club and Junior Honor Society in junior high. Now that she is at Mountain View, she choose to try out for the school play, Beauty and The Beast. She's never had a drama class but yet she got a part in the play..she's a teacup ;) Funny, but she will have a great time meeting new people and making new friends at the practices and performances. And this will make her feel even more that she is a part of the school.

Chelsea took a different route. She tried out for the school play last year and didn't make it. She tried out for the Jazz Band and didn't make it. She ran for Student Council and didn't make that. And she tried out for Cheer and made it. :) After being shot down for quite a few things one after another, she finally got something that she tried hard for. Tonight she's cheering for her first game. She had to wear the uniform at school all day. There were the usual cheerleader comments, but on boy actually made her feel quite good about herself. He said, "Most cheerleaders are stuck up and you're not. You're really friendly." And she is. She knows alot of people and is nice to people around her. I've heard plenty of people make that comment to me about her. SO here's hoping for a fun evening for her. Way to go!

and...

Go Leopards!! :)

Good for your girls, Teresa!! I feel the same way...I think I despised my school career, and I'm sure it had something to do with not being involved...except for Yearbook my senior year of HS. Yay for Chantel being a teacup!! So fun, and for Chelsea becoming a cheerleader, and a nice one at that! ;o) She looks so darling in her little outfit! :o)
