hmmm...
Just coming out of hiding for a bit. It's been a interesting summer to say the least. Nothing to exciting or earth-shattering, just busy and different. School is back in for the girls and it's nice to have a quiet home. As they get older, things just change - activities, free-time, work, friends..you name it.
Chantel works at the grocery store as a front-end clerk aka bagger and really likes it. They do keep her busy but there is a lot of fun kids working there too. She's got a good senior year lined up. After a little (or alot) of prodding, she tried out for the school play again and is the club secretary for MUN. So wierd to think that she will be making college decisions this year. Chelsea worked the concession stand at the pool and earned herself some money too; they asked her to work the BYU home games at the stadium so that will still give her a way to earn a little money through the fall. She's now a sophomore and so enjoying the beginning of school. Had a little trouble with some friends over the summer, but it's over and she's moving on. She's cheering with the JV squad and I am just so proud of her for sticking with it and not wanting to give up. THey literally work those girls so hard but when your team finally wins their first game in over a year...it's so worth it. She cheered at the Varsity game last weekend and it was awesome. She loved it. Abby is now in 7th grade. Amazing!! She seems to enjoy it quite well and is getting into a good little routine. I think she's still drifting and looking for some good friends but I'm sure she'll settle with some real soon. Madalyn is in 3rd grade and is enjoing it also. Her and Cade have quite the little friendship. It's really quite cute. They are constantly together at school.
Paul finished up his MBA in June and had graduation just a few weeks ago. His work offered a nice raise to stay, so he's still at the foundry. I really hope he'll be able to find something else within the next year or two. Funny how his life was so structured before and now he's struggling with the extra time. I really thought that his anxiety and stress would subside, but it really hasn't. I hope he can snap out of it soon.
I scrapbooked like crazy the beginning of summer for deadlines and haven't touched my supplies for a month. I pulled out an unfinished (barely started) quilt and have been working on it here and there. Lots of piecing involved. I sewed together a denim quilt top a few weeks ago and am now wondering how to finish it off. It's been set aside for about a week and a half. Need to get back to it soon and actually finish it!
Well, that's a quick update. Hope to get back into a better routine once this cold goes away :)
