prom...

Two weekends ago was MVHS Prom. Lucky for Chelsea, the original date was changed and she turned sixteen just in time to attend Prom this year. She was so happy :) She was asked about 6 weeks before the dance by her current crush, Brayden. Did I mention that he's a senior and a friend of Chantel's? He's been counting down to her birthday for quite a while. Meanwhile, Chantel's boy who is a friend decided that he was not going to ask her after all. After the whole school year planning it. Whatevah! She was a little worried that she wouldn't be asked at all, but about two weeks before the dance she had a good friend of her's ask during one of their MUN meetings. She was pretty excited!

Chelsea rented a dress and Chantel bought her dress this year. Chelsea's didn't need hemming since it was a rental but Chantel's needed 2 1/2 inches taken off of it. That's even after buying shoes with as tall of a heel that we could find. It was pretty much a nightmare or labor-of-love (you decide) to hem. Five layers of fabric to deal with...taffeta, satin, tulle and organza..plus three of those layers were wrapped in a narrow satin trim that had to be picked off then re-sewn to the new hem. Three days of fushia headaches :) ha ha ha

The girls had our awesome neighbor and her mom do their make-up and hair for the dance and they looked absolutley GORGEOUS! Chelsea totally blew me away with her finished look and Chantel was just a cute as ever :)

Paul and I chaperoned the dance. We pretty much just guarded some doors so the kids wouldn't sneak into places they shouldn't be. I was even pleased that some of the girl's friends came over and talked to us through-out the night. Even the girls acknowledged that we were there ;) ha ha I told them that they didn't have to talk to us if they didn't want to.

youre a saint of a mother to first of all know the names of all the types of fabric :) and then to hem them all for her. your girls are soo cute- i love having them in laurels.
