Sunday in DC

Maybe this will go faster if I post more pictures and less writing :)

We decided to stay inside as much as we could on Sunday too since it was so blasted humid and hot. We headed first to the archives to check out the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Had to wait in line for quite a bit but once we made it inside it was pretty quick. Chantel was quite impressed to see the documents and enjoyed it very much...especially since she loves history. No flash photography allowed hence the blurry photo:
We headed over to the National Gallery of Art next and These two ehjoyed the fountain quite obviously. Silly...
We looked at alot of sculpture stuff but then headed over to see the DaVinci painting. I believe it's the only one west of the Mississippi.
We also saw alot of the French Impressionist paintings...I liked the Monets :) After that we decided to walk to the Metro and head over to Union Station for some dinner. This photo was taken as we crossed Pennsylvania Avenue. Cool, huh?
We waited in the Metro quite a while because of some train problems but finally got on the Metro and headed over to where we were headed. It was worth the $$ and time not to have to walk in the heat! We Went to the National Postal Museum first which originally was the first operating Post office in DC way back when. It was refurbished a while ago and looks really impressive on the inside.
We spent about a hour there before they closed...Chantel is really good at being a poser ;)
We headed across the street to Union Station and ate at America. I believe their menu is supposed to have a representation of food from all across America. Kind of fun, except our waiter didn't understand English and couldn't handle bringing us more rolls when we requested them. Toto funny!

We sat and took our time eating and then headed back to the hotel for the evening. Pictures from inside the Metro station :)
And that was our Sunday...only two more days left till we go home :)
