WTC...
So, here's the deal...Paul's Christmas party was this evening...I've met quite a few people that he works with but I still get so anxious about group get-togethers. I asked him what the dress would be for this and he said nicer than jeans. But here's the problem...I own absolutely no nice-type pants..no dress pants..no business-y wear pants. I wear jeans in the winter and capris/shorts in the summer. I've never really had the need to dress up to live my life if you know what I mean.
So I decided that this afternoon would be a good time to see if Target has anything that will work for me. Walked around, saw a couple of pairs, grabbed a size 4 and a few 6's. They should work, right? WRONG! I've stopped exercising regularly since school has started and now I am slowly turning into the stay-puff marshmallow girl! Kinda makes me mad! So I hand those back to the dressing room attendant and have to go find the next size up - I certainly don't want to try them on there so I bought all four pair and two cardi's to try on at home along with a few underpinnings that i need to replace ASAP. I've had four kids...things aren't sitting where they used to ;)
So I get home try all these things on and feel like CRAP! I'm feeling frumpy, oh so frumpy, old and not so cute. So my husband comes home right around the time that this is happening. I'm getting mad and I don't find too much happiness in what I see in the mirror. Shouldn't I be happy with the way I look because it's the same me that I see in the mirror everyday...but I'm just not happy with myself when I have the added pressure of an 'event' to attend. Not exercising? I blame school. Not eating the right foods? I blame the stress from school. But really, it's my own fault....I need to get back to exercising and take care of the roly poly middle that I have going on here. I want to look good in these pants I bought...Grrr...I need a fashion intervention just to come tell me what this old frumpy lady needs to be wearing to have any amount of confidence in herself. I'll tell you what...the confidence is not coming from school and homework...grrrr...
There's my rant....Paul got home just in time to hear me complain about everything....I must have sounded like a dang teenager. Just wasn't a good clothes shopping/wearing sort of day. lame......what the crap....
