goodbye DC

Time to go home. Tuesday was our last day. We really enjoyed spending time together and I loved the one on one time with Chantel. We woke up late and just kind of packed everything up. Paul went outside to take a few pictures. These flags were in front of the FBI building..kind of cool looking...We said goodbye to Hotel Harrington. And headed to the Metro to go to Union Station.
After buying our MARC tickets we ate a little lunch at a pizza place and bought a fgew treats at a bakery ;) The train ride was dang sweaty but we made to BWI without any trouble. Had to wait for a while for our flight but then had a little delay when the jetway wouldn't move up to the plane. Had to walk out onto the tarmac and up the outside steps...haven't done that for a long long time :) Once we were on the plane we had to wait for three hours becuase of storms in the West. I guess it was messing up air travel pretty bad. SO after that three hours delay, we finally we're cleared to go. Yea!! We had a pretty sunset to look at for a bit but it didn't make the four-ish hours on the plane much better. I was so restless and I couldn't sleep.

We had crying kids in front of us and a family of little kidlets right behind us too. But we did finally walk in our door a little after one o'clock in the morning. The other girls were pretty dang happy to see us and we were happy to see them too. Poor Madalyn had a hard time with us gone. Though the trip cost us a little more that we really could afford to spend, it was so worth the time together with Chantel and Paul. I think we're hinting for Chelsea to take a senior trip to Hawaii when she graduates :)

What a fun trip! I have enjoyed reading about it and looking at the photos. You look way too young to be sending a child off to college!
