quilt post :)

Here is my first attempt at machine quilting at home. I have a wonderful neighbor who let me borrow her Bernina to do some quilting. I've had the tree skirt pieced for years! I would just put it under the tree every Christmas and in a matter of days it wouldn't matter because the gifts under the tree covered the raw, unfinished edges. My goal this year was to FINISH the tree skirt. So, I just put the layers into the machine and just started free-motion quilting. The lines are not smooth by any means and my curves are more like corners..but it's finished :) After this project was done, I pulled out my Halloween quilt that I pieced last year and just kept going. Starting out was kind of rough..lots of corners again..but by the time I was done, I think I sort of got the hang of it. I'm really really hoping that new machine is in my near future :)
