and more...

nothing like making this trip drag out forever... ha ha ha

After the Capitol, we walked for a few blocks over to Union Station. At one time the largest operating train station. It fell into disrepair and was recently refurbished. It was huge and very impressive. Once again pictures just don't do it justice. I loved the architecture and the old building feel that it had. It seriously was like a mini city. We walked around for a bit then ate and one of the restaurants. Delish! Then a little souviner shopping. Just a good time looking at the shops...

After that, we headed over to the National Postal Musuem. A much smaller Smithsonian musuem but still lots of fun. Stamp collections, mock up of a mail train car, history of the mail system and a little kiosk to send a postcard. (We made it home before the post card!) Though the building isn't used as a post office anymore, it too was one of the bigget ones at one time. And the look and feel of the building was just beautiful!

Next stop was the Air and Space Museum....
